Bilo Platito: Incense Holder / Catcher

This adorable and fun hand-built dish can play multiple roles, from holding your incense to catching your jewelry.

Inspired and named after a Filipino dessert made of small glutinous rice balls in coconut milk and sugar called "Bilo-Bilo."

I remember helping my family make this dish. When I was a kid, I would go with my dad to the Palengke (wet market) to buy the ingredients. I still catch myself daydreaming about the colorful selection of dyed rice flour and can feel my childhood excitement to race home, eager to help my family mold it into balls.

I channeled my inner-bata (kid) into creating this "Bilo Platito" using the forms and shapes inspired by the desert.
